Guardians of Our Hearts
From ancient fires where shadows danced, A silent pact was first advanced— Wolf and man, side by side, Bound by need and hearts untied. Through time’s river, wild and vast, That bond endured, forever cast.
Oh noble hound, with eyes so wise, Mirroring earth, wind, and skies, Your loyalty, fierce and pure, Is a love that shall endure. Through war and peace, through drought and rain, You guard our souls, you share our pain.
In wagging tails and joyful barks, You kindle light in deepest darks. A healer’s touch, a steadfast guide, In every stride, you’re by our side. Through fields you race, through storms you stand— Ever faithful, ever grand.
From shepherd’s fields to hero’s call, In every task, you give your all. Sniffing trails, pulling weight, Saving lives or guarding gates. No crown is needed for your reign, Your kingdom is the heart’s domain.
Why do we love you, loyal friend? Because your love knows no end. No judgment in your gentle gaze, No fleeting heart, no fickle ways. In every bark, in every paw, You teach us trust, respect, and awe.
Oh, mighty soul in humble fur, No sweeter bond could life confer. From ancient woods to busy streets, In every corner, our hearts meet. You are joy, you are grace, Forever holding sacred space.
So here’s to you—protector, guide, Companion true, with boundless pride. From first howl beneath the moon, To cuddled sleep in afternoon, Man’s best friend, till stories cease, In every heart, you run in peace. -Daniel Raffel
